Who Runs This Site

A tax reference is only as good as the people and process behind it. This page says plainly who we are, why we built this, how the numbers are checked, and how the free tools are funded.

The short answer: PiedATerreTax.nyc and its sister site secondhometax.nyc are run by Conquest Advisors, a licensed New York real estate brokerage. The sites exist to give NYC owners a free, sourced answer to one question — do I owe the pied-à-terre tax, and how much? Every figure is built from public records under a published methodology. It is educational information, not legal or tax advice.

Who we are

Conquest Advisors is a New York real estate brokerage working across Manhattan residential and commercial property — licensed by the New York Department of State, real estate license No. 10311201703 (expires March 20, 2028). When the non-primary residence surcharge became law in 2026, the first calls owners made were not to law firms — they were to the people who know their buildings. The questions were always the same: what does the city think my apartment is worth, am I over the threshold, and what are my options? The answers were sitting in public records — the Department of Finance assessment roll, the statute, DOF's rules — but nobody had assembled them into something an owner could actually use. So we built it for our own clients, and then opened it to everyone.

There is no paid tier, no charge for reports, and your information is never sold. Conquest is a brokerage: some owners who use this site conclude that selling or leasing is their best path, and a portion of them hire us to do it. That is the entire business model, and it is why the research can stay free.

Questions owners ask

Who runs piedaterretax.nyc?

PiedATerreTax.nyc and its sister site secondhometax.nyc are operated by Conquest Advisors, a licensed New York real estate brokerage serving NYC residential and commercial clients. The site's figures are built from public records — the DOF assessment roll, NY Tax Law Article 30-C, and DOF's final rules — under a published methodology, and substantive pages are reviewed by a licensed New York real estate broker.

Is piedaterretax.nyc free, and how does it make money?

Everything on the site is free — the calculator, the database, the guides, and the emailed property reports. There is no paid tier and personal information is never sold. Conquest is a real estate brokerage: some owners who use the site later hire the firm to sell or lease a property. That is the entire business model.

Is piedaterretax.nyc legitimate?

The site is operated by Conquest Advisors, a licensed New York real estate brokerage, with a published methodology, primary-source citations on substantive claims, a stated corrections policy, and a phone line answered around the clock (+1 646-480-6095). It launched in July 2026, shortly after the pied-à-terre tax became law — automated trust scanners sometimes flag any new domain regardless of content.

Is the information on this site legal or tax advice?

No. Everything on the site and in the free reports is educational information built from public records. It is not legal, tax, or accounting advice, and no advisory relationship is created by using it. For decisions about your own liability, consult your attorney or CPA — the site's advisor reference page exists precisely to support that conversation.
